About 1898 Waverly Inn
The Waverly has been welcoming travelers since the days when guests arrived by train and stagecoach, along streets lined with boardwalk sidewalks and oil-lit corners. As Hendersonville's oldest surviving inn, it carries its history with grace, yet it has never been a place stuck in the past. The inn had electricity by 1903 and telephone service by 1904, and that spirit of timeless charm paired with modern comfort still defines a stay here today.
Three stories of classic Southern architecture, wraparound rocking-chair porches, and warm, individually decorated rooms give the Waverly its unmistakable character. It's the kind of place where you slow down, settle into a rocker with a cup of coffee, and remember what a getaway is supposed to feel like.

Music on the Porch: Waverly Live
From May through early October, the Waverly's front porch becomes one of Hendersonville's most charming gathering spots. Waverly Live, the inn's first-Thursday-of-the-month music series, brings local musicians to the porch from 6 to 8 p.m., a free, easygoing evening of live music that draws both guests and neighbors. The Fourth of July show is a particular favorite, regularly bringing out a crowd of more than a hundred to enjoy the music from the porch and lawn. It's a wonderful example of how the Waverly lives at the heart of its community, not just at the center of downtown.
