Asheville Tours

It’s not surprising that a city so rich in history and culture would have multiple tours from which to choose. Here’s a sampling of some popular ones:

  • Historic Trolley Tour: Visitors can choose from a hop-on/hop-off tour, a ghost tour or Christmas tour.

  • LaZoom Comedy Bus Tour: La Zoom experiences are one-of-a-kind. These tours take place aboard a purple bus and there are four different tour experiences – the ghost tour, the city tour, the beer tour and the kid-friendly tour. They’re all hilarious, but educational too.

  • The Groovy Bus: Take a private tour on a beautifully-renovated 1974 VW bus. Peace. Love, Music. Fun.

  • Thomas Wolfe Memorial: The historic Old Kentucky Home boardinghouse operated by Thomas Wolfe’s mother was depicted as “Dixieland” in Wolfe’s 1929 novel “Look Homeward, Angel.” It had been his home for 10 years. House tours are offered Tuesday through Saturday.

  • Moving Sidewalk Tours: Glide your way through downtown via a Segway. The tour leads you on a two- to two-and-a-half-hour journey through downtown including the Grove Arcade and Montford’s Historic District.

  • The Asheville Urban Trail: Enjoy a self-guided walking tour that highlights many of the city’s quirky and magical moments. A good starting point is Asheville’s Pack Square Park.

  • Asheville Brews Cruise: In support of Asheville’s brew notoriety, this tour will provide you with a designated (and highly knowledgeable) driver to sample some of the locally-made specialties and get a behind-the-scenes look at a variety of breweries.

It simply isn’t possible to list all of the exciting ways to explore Asheville – new tours are added almost monthly as our city seeks to show you its best. Request a free Asheville Visitor Guide here, or visit Romantic Asheville for more information.

And, of course your Asheville innkeeper will be an invaluable resource to help you find the best tour for you.
